In order to achieve our objective of becoming climate positive by 2030, we have decided to adapt two different strategies:
RT0 is how we approach making our product as sustainable as possible as of right now, instead of waiting until our processes have been changed to fully circular ones.
To ensure this, we are focusing on three macro areas that are responsible for most of the emissions in fashion:
During the average production process of one piece of clothing by GLI, a maximum of 20 kg CO2 is emitted into the atmosphere. While we are aware that carbon offsetting is not a final solution, we are purchasing carbon offsets during the transition of our processes for the entire order made.
Among other projects, we are supporting a project awarded by the United Nations Develop Programme Equator Initiative. Thus we are contributing to the improvement of the livelihoods of the hunter-gatherer Hadza in Tanzania who live in an area with very high biodiversity.
We are contributing to Oxfam Italia’s project by donating 100€ for every 5.000€ order we get. This way we are supporting the work towards the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 6 to make access to clean water a part of the future for everyone.
By becoming a member of Bureau of International Recycling (BIR), we join the world’s largest recycling federation that allows us to promote recycling within the fashion industry.
FD1, instead, is the long-term strategy that aims to transform our production cycles to make them circular.
To do so we are:
